Offer Description

The Post-Doctoral researcher should develop tasks within the scope of the project “Ruy Cinatti: etnógrafo e poeta”[Ruy Cinatti: etnographer and poet], which aims at identifying, transcribing and translating collections of oral narratives made by Ruy Cinatti in "Portuguese Timor", crossing this with his ethnographic and literary production, namely his poetry. The tasks to be developed comprise:

  1. Organization, revision of transcriptions and preparation for publication of a set of oral narratives already collected by the project team from Ruy Cinatti's personal archive.
  2. Collaboration in the second part of a book with comments on collections of oral tradition made by Ruy Cinatti.

 

Duration of the fellowship: the fellowship will last for 6 months, starting in July 2024. The fellowship contract may be renewable.

In the case of academic degrees obtained in foreign HEI, it is necessary to present the recognition of the obtained degrees, in accordance with DL nº 66/2018, of 16th of August; or, in the absence of recognition at the time of application, a declaration under oath that this recognition will be completed before contracting the Scholarship in case of being the selected candidate. It is mandatory to present the recognition until the date of contracting the scholarship.

Benefits

Amount of monthly maintenance allowance: the amount of the scholarship corresponds to 1801.00€ according to the table of values of scholarships awarded directly by FCT, I.P. in Portugal (http://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores). To this amount is added the voluntary social insurance corresponding to the first level, in case the candidate opts for its attribution, as well as the personal accident insurance.

Eligibility criteria

PhD obtained in the Scientific area: Social Sciences and Humanities; Specific Scientific Areas: Portuguese Literature, Traditional and oral literature, Anthropology. less than 3 years ago, in a different host institution than IELT.

 

In compliance with article 7 of the FCT Research Grants Regulations (Reg. no. 950/2019), the candidate(s) must:

  1. hold a doctoral degree obtained within the three years prior to the date of submission of the application for the grant;
  2. have developed the research work that led to the award of the degree of doctoral degree in an entity other than the entity receiving the grant;
  3. Does not exceed, with the signing of the grant contract in question, including possible renewals, an accumulated period of three years in this type of grant, consecutive or interpolated;
  4. Not to have had a previous post-doctoral research fellowship contract with FCSH.

Academic degrees obtained in foreign countries need to be registered by a Portuguese institution, in accordance Portuguese institution, according to Decree Law no.

Selection process

The selection methods will be the following:

1.Academic curricular assessment; (50%)

2.Evaluation of scientific and professional career; (30%)

3.Merit of the letter of motivation (20%).

Publication / notification of results: the final results of the evaluation will be publicized by email through a list ordered by the final grade obtained. All applicants will be notified by email.

After the provisional list of evaluation results has been communicated, candidates have a period of 10 working days to comment, if they wish, in a prior hearing of interested parties, in accordance with Articles 121 and following of the Administrative Procedure Code. The final decision must be taken within a maximum period of 60 working days after the conclusion of the prior hearing of interested parties or the public consultation. Complaints may be lodged against the final decision within 15 working days, or appeal to the highest executive body of the financing entity within 30 working days, both after the respective notification.
