Open position - Institute of Movement Sciences E.J. Marey (Marseille, France)
Within the EU-funded Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Doctoral Network “Translational Research Network in Motor Disorder Rehabilitation: Advancing understanding of variability in motor control and learning, to enhance clinical practice (TReND)”, we areseeking to fill a 3 years full-time positionof a:
Doctoral Research Associate - EU MSCA Fellow
(salary level E 13 – gross salary 3400€-3 900€ + family allowance if eligible)
The position is under the co-supervision of Dr. Rita Sleimen-Malkoun and Prof. Jean-Jacques Temprado, and is located on the Luminy site of the Institute of Movement Sciences in the heart of the National Park of the Calanques.
The laureate will have the opportunity to:
- Investigate how the structure of behavioral and physiological variability relates to training outcomes on cognition, motor control and their interactions.
- Measure and analyze physiological and behavioral variability in different populations (healthy younger and older adults, and clinical populations).
- Communicate and disseminate research results to different target audiences and sectors (e.g., research, clinical, and industry).
- Publish research results in internationally recognized journals and conferences.
- Collaborate with an international consortium and be part of a doctoral network.
- Participate in the network’s training program.
- The position is tied to working towards a doctorate.
The applicant must:
- have a graduate (Master’s) degree in Sport and Exercise Science, or in Human Movement Science, or in Cognitive Science, or in Neuroscience, or in Biomedical Engineering, or related studies.
- not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in France for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately before their date of recruitment (December 1st 2024).
- not hold a doctoral degree.
- have a good knowledge in movement analysis or neuroscience investigation methods (EEG or EMG).
- have solid knowledge of time-series analysis and non-linear methods applied to signal analysis.
- have programming skills for data processing and analysis (e.g., R, MATLAB, Python).
- have good command of written and spoken English.
- be willing to visit partners in Germany, and the Netherlands, and to travel to different the network events.
