Offer Description
The Institute of Measurement Science of the Slovak Academy of Sciences offers positions in PhD study program Measurement Technology (study field Electrical and Electronics Engineering) on following topics:
- Advanced Computational Methods for Uncertainty Analysis in Measurements
- Analysis of Multilead ECG Signals in Disorders of Excitation Propagation in the Heart
- Causal analysis of measured time series
- Characterization of magnetic properties of materials using AC susceptometry
- Detection and evaluation of stress impacts on the examined person during scanning in an MRI scanner based on analysis of the multi-channel PPG signal
- Modeling and simulation of the cardiac electrical field for understanding its manifestation in ECG signals in some cardiac disorders
- Towards an ecologically valid BCI and head-mounted VR system for post-stroke neurorehabilitation
For each topic, one student as maximum can be accepted. The study program is full-time, 3-years, the study language is combined Slovak/English, the student will receive stipendium from the Institute and there is a possibility of accommodation in the facilities of the Slovak Academy of Sciences.
The Institute of Measurement Science of the Slovak Academy of Sciences is an external educational institution of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava. After successful completion of the study, the student will receive PhD degree from the University.

The application has to be filled and delivered only in electronic form (without guaranteed electronic signature) using the academic information system (AIS) of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (http://is.stuba.sk/prihlaska/?lang=en). AIS enables to the applicant verification and evidence of the application in the AIS from the date of application until the final date of the admission procedure. The application has to be delivered until the deadline and must contain all required data and enclosures.
In the first round, the application form and the enclosures will be checked, in the second round, applicants complying with all requirements will be invited for personal or Skype interviews foreseen on June 21 and 24, 2024. The results will be announced on June 28, 2024.
