The team working on the hydrogeophysical inverse problems at the Laboratory of Continental and Coastal Morphodynamics (CNRS UMR 6143 M2C) of the Rouen Normandy University is looking for a motivated PhD candidate to work on the development of the numerical methods for forward and inverse problems in hydrogeophysics. The aim of this project is to develop numerical modeling tools to simulate the transport of the NAPL contaminants in porous media, and to interpret the hydrogeophysical data recorded during the remediation operations of a contaminated aquifer by the hydrocarbons. The candidates must have obtained a Master Degree in Mathematics/ Physics/ scientific computing /Geophysics/Hydrogeology, Engineering or equivalent. The position requires a strong background in the inverse problems, finite element methods and programming languages (e.g. C++, Matlab, Comsol Multiphysics, etc.).
This is a 3 years contract (Ph. D)
