The Center of Plant Systems Biology and Biotechnology (CPSBB) offers the following position:

Researcher - Science4Refugees Intern  

Occupation: Full-time (8-hours)

Period: Fixed-term contract for a period of six (6) months

Place: CPSBB, Plovdiv, Bulgaria

CPSBB is a plant science research center located in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, with the financial help of the H2020 project PlantaSYST, the Bulgarian Government, and the Municipality of Plovdiv.  Its mission is to conduct outstanding fundamental and applied research in the fields of plant development and stress physiology, plant cell biotechnology, vegetable breeding, metabolomics, and bioinformatics. The center is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratory equipment and innovative greenhouses.

CPSBB welcomes applications from talented refugees and asylum seekers with a scientific background who would like to apply for our advertised researcher internship position. Ukrainian researchers are eligible to benefit from the Science4Refugees initiative without holding refugee status.

Experience, Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge:

• PhD in biology or chemistry
• Experience in Chromatographic analysis – HPLC, UPLC, mass spectrometry, NMR spectroscopy
• Experience with animal cell cultures
• Good language and communication skills
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment

Main responsibilities:

• Assist with research projects and experiments
• Collect and analyze data
• Prepare reports and presentations
• Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies
• Perform other duties as assigned
