The candidate will contribute as an assistant researcher in a European project where the Physense group.Main research field: Computational modelling in biomedicine.

Tasks to be performed:

The candidate will work on modelling the thrombus formation process, coupled with fluid simulations, as well as the interaction with drug treatment (e.g., anticoagulants). Special emphasis will be given to low-fidelity fast surrogates thrombus formation and fluid models, including the study of techniques such as cellular automata and Lattice-Boltzmann method, which would allow parameter personalization and larger sensitivity analyses. Additionally, reinforcement learning techniques will be explored for treatment optimization combining drug and device-related therapies. The research assistant will interact with other members of the project to validate thrombus simulations, as well as linking low- and high-fidelity models of thrombus formation.

These tasks are part of the workpackage 2 of the GEMINI EU project.

The duration of these tasks is estimated over a period of 9 months.

Main research field: computational modelling in biomedicine.

Dedication and working hours: Part time (30h/week)

Planned remuneration approx: 23.980,90 € gross per year

Financing fund: PREUR03123 - HEu-CL1-101136438-GEMINI-O.Camara, projecte “Towards GEMINI: A Generation of Multi-scale Digital Twins of Ischaemic and Haemorrhagic Stroke Patients”, Horizon Europe (2021-2027).
