Offer Description

IdiPAZ seeks a Assistant Research with a Biosanitary Degree (Pharmacy, Biology, Chemistry or similar), to join in a research public project funded by the Community of Madrid in the framework of the Call 2023 for the recruitment of research assistants. Co-funded by the European Union and the Europe Plus Social Fund, with reference PEJ-2023-AI/SAL-GL-28777. The contracted person will carry out his/her activities at the Neurological Sciences Laboratory of the Research Institute of the Hospital Universitario La Paz (IdiPAZ), in the line of research "Role of extracellular vesicles as a treatment and biomarker in stroke".

The Neurological and Cerebrovascular Sciences Laboratory is dedicated to translational research into neurological diseases, with special attention to stroke (cerebral infarction and intracerebral haemorrhage) where different novel therapeutic options are investigated, such as extracellular vesicles and proteins to boost cerebral plasticity and recovery, as well as the study of different diagnostic, prognostic and clinical monitoring biomarkers, such as circulating extracellular vesicles and imaging techniques, such as ultrasound. The aim is to achieve greater precision in these diagnostic and therapeutic processes, so that these findings can be translated into health outcomes, reducing not only mortality but also the dependency of patients after a stroke.

The research assistant will be trained to acquire skills and competences to investigate the role of extracellular vesicles as a treatment in a preclinical model of intracerebral haemorrhage, as well as their usefulness as a biomarker of damage and repair in translational stroke research.

The selected person will perform the following functions associated with the position:

- Formulate working hypotheses and critically evaluate information to solve problems, applying the scientific method.
-Handling animal models.
-Design and experimental development in an animal model of stroke.
-Analysis of results, using statistical programmes.
-Search, critical reading and writing of articles.
