Offer Description
Integrating multimodal datasets and modeling the evolution of gene families in parasites.
Thanks to numerous international collaborations, we have generated and will continue to generate host-parasite datasets. These include single-cell spatial data, as well as compilations of host and parasite data.
- Exploring methods for integrating single-cell and spatial transcriptomics
- Analyze a wide range of data sets
- participate in the testing and implementation of single-cell data visualization tools
- Model the diversity and microevolution of variant surface antigens (var, rif, stevor) from 16,000 clinical isolates in the field.
Activities: Biostatistics/bioinformatics background, with proven experience in Omics data analysis
- Good knowledge of R or Python
- Able to work independently
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Willingness to lead research projects
- Passion for scientific discovery
The aim is to create pipelines to (1) integrate spatial and scRNA-Seq datasets for host-parasite datasets and (2) model how host-parasite interaction evolves over time. This should lead to at least one peer-reviewed manuscript.s
Requirements

This position will be funded by the ExposUM ANR program and will remain open until a suitable candidate is found. Starting date around the 1st February 2024 or as early as possible. There is funding in place for two years and potentially an extension for further two years.
