Open research fellowship for a Master Student_OBERCOM

a) Experience in research and organisation of international research projects in the field of communication;

b) Experience in developing and analysing databases

c) Experience in data analysis using programming languages or artificial intelligence platforms;

d) Solid knowledge of spoken and written English.

Admission requirements:

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in the field of Communication Sciences and be enrolled in a Master's programme in New Media Management (according to Article 6 of the Research Scholarship Regulations of the Foundation for Science and Technology, I.P. - Reg. no. 950/2019).

Academic degrees obtained in foreign countries need to be registered by a Portuguese institution, in accordance with Decree-Law no. 66/2018 of 16 August and Ministerial Order no. 33/2019 of 25 January. The amount of the grant corresponds to 930.98 € according to the table of values of grants awarded by FCT, I.P. in the country (https://www.fct.pt/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Tabela-de-Valores-SMM_2023.pdf). In addition to the stipend, there is the corresponding voluntary social insurance, when applicable and if the candidate chooses to take it out, as well as personal accident insurance. The grant will be paid monthly by bank transfer.

The selection process will be based on curricular assessment. If several candidates demonstrate that they have the right profile to carry out the work plan, the jury reserves the right to call the three best ranked candidates in the curricular assessment for an interview, which will have a weighting of 20% in the final grade.

If the jury deems it unnecessary to hold interviews, the final weighting of the curricular assessment will be 100 per cent.

The curricular assessment criteria are based on:

a) academic record (30%);

b) research experience (40%) 

c) the experience demonstrated in the items indicated in the preferential factors (30%).

The curricular assessment of the candidates will be carried out in accordance with the criteria indicated and will be carried out on a scale between 0 and 20 points.

The selection board reserves the right to:

a) invite the highest-scoring candidate to the position in question, following the order established in the final ranking list, whenever the selected candidate does not meet the requirements for formalising the contract or in the event of unavailability;

b) not awarding the grant if none of the candidates matches the desired profile.
