Offer Description
Student – scholarship position available in the Institute of Physical Chemistry PAS within NCN OPUS no. 2022/45/B/ST4/00800, "Ambipolar, bowl-shaped polyaromatic compounds with manifold, precisely arranged, nitrogen dopants. Unprecedented class of efficient OLED emitters (BOwLEDs)." (project leader at IChF: dr hab. Adam Kubas)
The development of 3rd generation of emitters for OLED (organic light emitting diode) devices utilizing organic molecules with required quantum efficiency, narrow-band emission, as well as thermal and electric stability is crucial from the viewpoint of molecular electronics. As devices performance embracing all factors has lagged behind the desired throughput, the scientific aim of this project covers the development of nonplanar N/N-doped PAHs architectures that will be investigated and examined as active emissive layers for the construction of multi-resonance (MR) thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF)
OLED nanodevices. The rational molecular design, synthesis, as well as the structural and photophysical characterization of novel N/N-PAHs serving as MR TADF emitters will be carried out by the first Polish consortium of optoelectronics (Institute of Physical Chemistry PAS, Institute of Organic Chemistry PAS and the Technical University of Łódź).
The student involved in the project will carry out quantum chemical calculations on the ground and excited states of the molecules synthetized within the project.
Responsibilities:
Student will be involved in the realization of the following research tasks:
- investigation of the ground and excited states of nonplanar N/N-doped PAHs
- simulations of spectroscopic data
- writing reports and manuscripts’ drafts
