Offer Description
CIPES hereby announces an international public notice for the recruitment of a project and communication manager in the form of a Certain Term Work Contract under the Portuguese Labour Code.
The position is scheduled until the 31st of December, 2024.
This vacancy is opened in the context of the Center for Research in Higher Education Policies´ Strategic Project, funded by the FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology).
It is a full-time position (100%) and requires exclusive dedication.
The gross monthly payment is 1122,84€ and updated according to the legally established for the 1st level senior technician career.

Work plan:
The position will consist of participation in the various activities of the research institution, namely:
- Support to the management of R&D projects;
- Resource management of the R&D unit, administration, and secretariat support relevant to the pursuit of the scientific mission of the unit;
- Support in identifying new funding opportunities and submission of applications.
- Organizing and creating content to effectively communicate the centre's research activity.
- Managing the communication channels between the centre, FCT, the University of Porto, and the University of Aveiro.
Admission requirements:
- Pre-Bologna BA Degree or Master's 2nd cycle;
- Knowledge of English (written and spoken);
- Knowledge of communication strategies;
- Computer knowledge from the user’s perspective;
- Knowledge of accounting, economics, management, and/or law will be positively valued;
- Experience in the administrative and financial management of research projects and/or R&D units will be positively valued.
Additional Information
Salary:
The gross monthly payment is 1122,84€, and updated according to the legally established for the 1st level senior technician career.
Applicable legislation and regulations:
Employment Contract Code, approved by Law No. 7/2009 of 12 February in its current wording and its respective regulations.
Selection Methods and Evaluation Criteria:
The applicable selection methods will be the curriculum evaluation and the selection interview for the first three classified in this evaluation.
The final evaluation will be obtained considering the following weights: Curriculum evaluation (60%) and Interview (40%).
The criteria for evaluating the applications and their respective valuations will be:
Curriculum Evaluation:
- Overall assessment of the candidate's profile and curriculum vitae (60%);
- Experience in managing and communicating R&D projects and/or R&D units (40%).
The classification of each candidate is expressed on a numerical scale from 0 to 20 (to a decimal point), and it is obtained by the average of the classifications of each member of the selection board. In the event of a tie, the decision will be made by the president of the selection board.
After the classification of the Curriculum Evaluation, the 3 (three) candidates with the highest score will be invited for an interview. Candidates scoring lower than 15 in the Curriculum Evaluation will be excluded.
The purpose of the interview will be to deepen, with the candidate, aspects related to his/her profile and curriculum. The classification obtained in the interview will be expressed on a numerical scale from 0 to 20 values (to a decimal point). In the event of a tie, the decision will be made by the president of the selection panel.
Candidates ordering:
The ordering of the candidates will be based on the sum of the points obtained in the Curriculum Evaluation and the Interview and will result in a final classification of up to 20 points (to a decimal point).

The final results of the selection process will be communicated to candidates via email.
