The University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) opens a call for one (1) Research Grant (students enrolled in an integrated master's, master's, doctoral or non-degree course, Article 6, FCT Regulation no. 950/2019), in the frame of the R&D project of I&D Vine & Wine PT, BI/UTAD/47/2023, funded by the project Vine&Wine Portugal - Driving Sustainable Growth Through Smart Innovation, (n. º C644866286-00000011), financed of the programme NextGeneration UE, through Portugal's Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) of Portugal, within the scope of the Mobilizing Agendas for Business Innovation, in the following requirements :

Admission requirements:

1 - Master's degree in economics, management, sociology, data science, engineering sciences or similar*;

2 - Skills in design thinking or similar approaches and participatory and deliberative methods for application in a living lab context*;

3 - Demonstrable knowledge and skills in the advanced use of Microsoft-Office (or similar) software, document editing, presentations and spreadsheets*;

4 - Ability to communicate orally and in writing, including digital platforms and other communication media;

5 – Domain of the English language*;

6 - Enrolment in a doctoral programme (preference for a doctoral programme hosted by CETRAD)*;

7 - Immediate availability;

8 - Submission of mandatory documentation (curriculum vitae, letter of motivation, declaration of honour regarding the submission of proof of enrolment up to the time of contracting - see point 2 of article 10 of FCT Research Grant Regulation no. 950/2019 - and personal identification details*).

Work plan:

The candidate will carry out R&D activities within the scope of the Vine&Wine Portugal - Driving Sustainable Growth through Smart Innovation project, namely:

1) Define and implement a strategy and plan for interaction and involvement of the companies and associations participating in the project with the aim of collecting data on the innovations being developed in the Vine&Wine project for cost-benefit analysis and impact assessment in terms of competitiveness and short- and long-term sustainability in the companies, sector and regions;

2) Define and implement an online survey through a stakeholder panel (in digital format) to assess and monitor the impact of adopting technological and sustainable innovations on companies in the wine sector (national and transnational);

3) Design and implement socio-technical scenarios aimed at the value chain and selected wine regions;

4) Organise, manage and analyse quantitative and qualitative data, focusing on the qualitative dimension, using appropriate software;

5) Supporting the sharing and dissemination of results through the design and preparation of content for newsletters or similar, specialised media, social networks and others;

6) Collaborating in the writing of scientific articles, presentations at scientific events and events aimed at other audiences, and in all activities to disseminate the project's results.

Workplace:

The work will be developed at of the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD).

Duration of scholarship:

The fellowship will last for 9 months, starting from November 2023. The scholarship contract may be renewed, and the total duration may not exceed 22 months.

Note:

If the grant is awarded to students enrolled in a course that does not confer an academic degree, the contract cannot exceed a total duration of 12 months.

Monthly maintenance allowance amount:

The scholarship amount corresponds to €1199.64 according to the table of scholarships awarded directly by the FCT, I.P. in the country (https://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores). The period of payment of the scholarship is monthly and through bank deposit, check or another equivalent method.

Selection Methods:

The selection methods to be used will be as follows:

A. Curriculum assessment: 70%

B. Interview (to all candidates): 30%

Form of advertising/notification of results:

The final results of the evaluation will be publicized through a ranked list posted on the UTAD Campus Online Page (http://www.campus.utad.pt/bolsasinvestigacao/candidaturas ), with the candidate being approved notified via email.

In the event that the selected scholarship holder withdraws, the final ranking list of candidates in this competition may be used to replace them. If none of the candidates demonstrates that they have the profile indicated to carry out the work plan, the jury reserves the right not to award the scholarship to the competition.

If the decision to be taken is unfavourable to the granting of the requested scholarship, the candidates have a period of 10 working days, after the aforementioned disclosure, to express their opinion, if desired, in a prior hearing, under the terms provided for in the Code of Administrative Procedure.
