Offer Description
The Institute of Economic Research of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (IER SAS) is looking for experienced researchers (R2, R3 or R4 level) willing to conduct independent economic research without further specifying the research topic.
The position is contingent upon the financial support being granted by the Slovak Research and Innovation Authority. During the duration of the temporary position, the applicant is expected to carry out independent research within the research objectives set out in a submitted research project.
The selection process is organised in two steps.
In the first step, IER SAS plans to collect short (apx. 1-2 pages) research proposals. Applicants are instructed to send their CVs and research proposals by 27th of August 2023 to: eusav.director@savba.sk
After this date, the IER SAS will internally pre-select a few research proposals based on: i. research quality and potential for excellence, ii. fit with the portfolio of IER SAS research activities (please explore: https://ekonom.sav.sk/en).
In the second step, authors of selected research proposals will be contacted before the 31st of August, 2023. They will be assisted in elaborating their research proposals into a project proposal, which needs to be submitted to the Slovak Research and Innovation Authority by the 28th of September, 2023. The most intensive input from the applicants is expected in early September.
Terms of contract:
If the project proposal is awarded financial support, the research position will be full-time and will last from 12 to 24 months, with an expected start date of January 2024 (or later). The research project must be completed by June 2026 at the latest.
The monthly remuneration ranges between EUR 3 100 and EUR 4 000 (brutto) depending on the seniority. Generous additional resources for research activities are available; in the case of researchers at R3 and R4 levels, also including a small research team of potentially up to two research assistants (junior researchers).
The position is based in Bratislava, Slovakia.
Applicants should send their CV and short (apx. 1-2 pages) description of their proposed research project by 27th of August 2023 to: eusav.director@savba.sk
Requests for further information should be addressed to: eusav.director@savba.sk
