IIS La Fe has decided to publish a call for a job offer, by a competitive procedure, for a full-time FPII Laboratory technician to perform the tasks in the framework of the Project.

Full-time FPII laboratory technician to develop the laboratory work of the project title New strategies in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of healthcare associated infections. The FPII will be responsible, under the supervision of the PI, for the following work packages:

WP1 New collection of multi-resistant strains. 1.1 Microbiology techniques.1.3 Snap Gene, Bionumerics, Galaxy and Artemis programs 1.3 Biofilm formation

WP2 Mobile genetic elements and virulence factors. 2.1 Mobilisation study by Southern-blot. 2.2 Obtaining mutants and cloning of relevant genes.

WP3 New strategies in the infections diagnosis by hybrid porous nanomaterials. 3.1 Molecular Microbiology techniques (PCR and qPCR)

WP4 New strategies for the prevention of infections associated with medical devices. Biofilm prevention (by confocal microscopy and time-lapse mode).

WP5 New collection of lytic bacteriophages as an alternative of antibiotic treatment. Efficacy in vivo using Galleria mellonella as a model.

Candidate requeriments: (All requeriments are necessary to apply)

Microbiology techniques (inoculation on liquid and solid media, serial dilutions, MIC, MBC, biofilm formation)

Molecular Microbiology techiques (southern-blot, pCR, qPCR, cloning, mutant obtaining)

Microscopy techeniques (confocal, time-lapse mode)

Mobile genetic elements (Bacteriophages and Pathogenicity Island) manipulation

Infection in vivo with Galleria Mellonella
