Offer Description

The Supramolecular Active Materials lab (SAM lab) led by Dr. Mohit Kumar
is looking for an experimental chemistry postdoctoral candidate to work on
developing out of equilibrium self-assembled nanomaterials for multianalyte sensing and targeted therapeutics.
We are a young multidisciplinary group which aims to incorporate some of
the characteristics of life into the design of functional nanomaterials. We
study self-assembly of molecules, either under equilibrium or under out-ofequilibrium conditions, to develop functional supramolecular materials for
sensing, diagnostics, nanomedicine etc. Our approach involves various
research field like Organic Chemistry, Soft Matter, Nanomaterials and
biotechnology among others. Please, visit our external web site for more
information: https://mohitkumarub.wixsite.com/saml
This specific project involves the development of out of equilibrium organic
nanomaterials whose functional properties can be regulated by the
chemical fuel. We aim to study how synthetic nanomaterials can act as an
adaptive system for multi analyte detection and for targeted therapy.
We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher with a PhD in Chemistry,
Chemical Engineering, material science or related field to perform synthesis
and self-assembly investigation of specially designed organic molecules and
then investigate their materials properties.
Key duties:
• Synthesis of custom designed organic molecules and formation of
their self-assembled structure.
Oficina d’Afers Generals
Administració de Centre de Física i Química
• Spectroscopic, microscopic and other related characterization of
the nanomaterials developed
• Publish in international scientific journals
• Present research at national and international conferences and
meetings
• Collaborate with various research groups across Europe and
elsewhere
• Help supervise PhD and MSc students
• Participate in grant writing and organizational activities
• Participate in educational and outreach activities
