Exciting times lie ahead for space science enthusiasts! The University of Trento in Italy is inviting applications for its nationwide PhD Course on Space Science and Technology. Notably, the number of fellowships on offer has seen an increase this year from 35 in 2022 to 54 in 2023.
 
This international course runs for three years and awards a PhD at the end of the tenure. Conducted in English, the course offers a diverse range of thesis topics, which can be found listed on the call webpage.
 
The call is now open and will close on July 6th, 2023, at 4:00 PM (Italian time). Applications can be made online within the stipulated deadline, and it's advised to register well in advance to avoid any last-minute technical hitches. The selection process involves analysis of submitted documents followed by a remote interview.
 
Candidates can apply for a variety of domains including, Observation of the Universe, Earth and the Sun-Earth system, Planetary Sciences, Astrobiology, Life Sciences and Space Medicine, Space Sensing and Instrumentation, Engineering and Satellite Platform Technologies, and Economics, Law and Space Diplomacy.  Every PhD student will as part of the course be affiliated with one of the 31 participating entities, which include Universities, Research Centers, or Companies. Additionally, they will spend at least 6 months at various European Space Centers and Institutions associated with the program.
