Israel - 3 postdoctoral positions in Life and Health Sciences for Brazilians within the Weizmann-IDOR Pioneer Science Fellowship

The Weizmann-IDOR Pioneer Science Fellowship programme offers 3 full post-doctoral fellowships for 3 years to qualified researchers at Israel's prestigious Weizmann Institute of Science. The aim of the programme is to promote the advanced training of young Brazilian scientists abroad in order to accelerate the development of innovative science in Brazil.

Areas of Expertise: Life and Health Sciences 

Examples of areas of interest: immunology, immuno-oncology, oncobiology, transplant medicine, infectious diseases, inflammatory bowel disease, liver diseases, cell and gene therapies, neuropsychiatry, neurodegenerative diseases, neuroplasticity and cognitive neuroscience, data science.

Proposals on other topics in the general area of Life and Health Sciences are also welcome.

What is offered

The annual amount of $ 32 000 (including travel expenses) will be paid by the Weizmann Institute. The host institution (principal investigator - PI) will be responsible for supplementing the total value of the up to the Weizmann Institute's standard postdoctoral level.

Who is eligible

  • Candidates should have:
  • Brazilian citizenship or residence;
  • Proven academic excellence;
  • Degree: PhD or MD, issued by an accredited higher education institution (obtained no more than 4 years prior to the date of application for this scholarship); alternatively, a declaration from the from the institution in question confirming that the candidate fulfils the criteria for the degree at PhD level;
  • Brazilian post-doctoral fellows who are already working at the Weizmann Institute may also apply.
