NGI Enrichers program for North American hosts to receive paid fellows from Europe

We are proud to highlight the NGI Enrichers initiative funded by the European Commission, which began on September 1st, 2022. EURAXESS North America attended the kick-off event in Chicago, IL earlier this month and a public launch event is scheduled for Thursday, October 20th.

The initiative is a Next Generation Internet transatlantic fellowships program, providing travel and allowance funding for up to 90 researchers or innovators from Europe (this include the EU, Ukraine, Turkey, Balkan countries, Morocco…), from PhD students to senior people, from start-ups or universities, to go on three- to six-month visits to the United States or Canada to work jointly with host universities or private firms on research or innovation projects/topics.

If you represent an American or Canadian institution, the NGI Enrichers consortium invites your support as a host for this very innovative, knowledge empowering program that comes with the costs covered by the European Commission.

The first call will be launched later this year. Hosts can join straight away in the first call – or later in the second and third calls in 2023.

Topics of interest are: 5G/6G, AI, big data, blockchain, cloud and edge computing, cybersecurity, IoT, quantum computing and algorithms, virtual realities, and various application domains.

There are 3 options:

(1) – European candidate already knows the host person from the U.S./Canada, who welcomes this specific person;

(2) The U.S./Canadian university has a specific topic to work on and calls for European colleague(s) to be hosted;

(3) European candidate proposes a topic and is looking for U.S./Canadian university or private firm, to host him/her.

• Access top researchers, PhDs and senior levels in the domain of NGI to work on a project for the institution for three to six months;
