Horizon Europe Information Session for UBC researchers

Researchers at the University of British Columbia are invited to hear from Luigi Scarpa de Masellis, Senior Advisor for Economic and Commercial Affairs at the Delegation of the European Union to Canada. He will present on Horizon Europe, the European Commission’s research and innovation framework program, running from 2021 to 2027 with a focus on evidence-based solutions to global challenges with a budget of €95.5 billion. Horizon Europe is open to researchers and innovators from around the globe who are encouraged to team up with EU consortia in preparing proposals.

EURAXESS North America will also join the hybrid event virtually to present on the EU's free EURAXESS services, highlighting the EURAXESS Jobs & Funding Portal and career our development services.

The info session will take place on Thursday, June 15th, 2023 from 12:00 noon to 1:30 AM PDT (3:00-4:30 PM EDT / 9:00-10:30 PM CEST). Convert to your local time zone here. It will be held in person at UBC’s Old Administration Building and also be live-streamed on Zoom. Advance registration for the free event is required for in-person and virtual attendees alike; click the blue button below to RSVP.

Topics covered during the information sessions will include:

  • Structure of the program;
  • Focus on international co-operation: openness and funding;
  • Impact of potential association of Canada to Horizon Europe;
  • Searching for opportunities and finding a call for proposals; and
  • Finding key information and additional local support.

The event is hosted by the UBC Office of the Vice Provost International.
