Mohamed Kefi
Dr. Mohamed Kefi is Assistant Professor at the Water Research and Technologies Center (CERTE) in Borj Cedria, Tunisia. In 2011, he received his PhD from the University of Tsukuba, Japan. He has over 10 years of academic and research experiences. His current research activities are related to water quality and quantity issues for sustainable use. His research interests include water resource management, natural hazards (flood/drought), ecological economics, GIS and remote sensing applications. Dr. Kefi has research experiences in several countries including Tunisia, Japan, Vietnam, Philippines, India and Indonesia. From 2016 to 2018, he was also UNU-JSPS Postdoctoral Fellow at the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS)/ The University of Tokyo Institutes for Advanced Study (UTIAS). He also gained professional experience in international projects in Tunisia (STATREPS, European projects). He published several articles on environment and water issue in peer-reviewed journals and he has participated in many international conferences around the world. He has also extensive experience in outreach and dissemination of research activities. In May 2022, he was nominated NCP-MSCA by the Tunisian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Naoko Iwata
Dr. Naoko Iwata is a thermal engineer interested in two-phase flow device (e.g. heat pipes) and thermal control system of spacecrafts. She completed her Masters in aerospace engineering in Kyushu University in Japan. After completing her studies, she started working at the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency as a thermal engineer in 2007. She obtained her PhD in two-phase flow device in 2016. She conducted research of the two-phase flow device with a new approach of advanced infrared measurement and inverse heat conduction problem in the University of Parma in Italy as a MSCA fellow from 2020 to 2022. She moved to Calyos, a Belgian SME manufacturing heat pipes, in May 2023.
