Call in FRANCE – Invited Scholars Fellowships at IHEAL in social sciences (Incoming)

The Institute of Latin American Studies (IHEAL - University Sorbonne Nouvelle-Paris 3) is calling for Invited professors in all fields of social science. History, Geography, Anthropology, Sociology, Economy and Political Science.

For the academic year of 2019-2020, courses in Geography and Anthropology, or focused on Central America, the Caribbean and the Andean countries are highly preferred. Visiting scholars may be invited to teach within the IHEAL’s new Masters’ program LAGLOBE (Latin America and Europe in a Global World), which benefits from the European Union support..

WHO?

Open to foreign researchers and professors (from North America, South America and Europe) who specialise in the study of Latin-American societies and work in universities in these regions.

Invited scholars are asked to teach two courses per semester, each one consisting of 24 hours. The course’s subject must be in line with the field of expertise of the invited scholar. The proposed courses might be modified according to the needs of IHEAL. Courses can be taught in French, Spanish or English.

At the time of application submission, the candidate must be under 65-years-old at the beginning of his contract with the IHEAL, hold a Ph.D. degree (obtained at least 5 years ago) and be a teacher at the University level or a researcher at a foreign research organization.

Duration:

The invitation is valid for a semester-long stay (4 months from September to December 2019 or from January to April 2020). This is to allow the invited scholar to immerse him or herself into the academic life of the University.

Funding:

Selected candidates will earn a monthly salary for the duration of the semester (4 months).
