The group of Prof. Silvan Schmid at the Institute of Sensor and Actuator Systems invites applications for a 3-year postdoc position in the field of optomechanics and surface physics.
This project with the title “surface physics of ultrahigh-Q silicon nitride resonators” is a collaboration with the Spin Physics Group at ETH Zurich in Switzerland.

Your profile:
For this highly interdisciplinary project we are looking for a motivated experienced researcher fulfilling some of these requirements:
PhD or comparable degree in physics, material science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or in a related subject
Experience with ultrahigh vacuum systems
Expertise in surface physics or surface chemistry
Experience in nanomechanics and optomechanics
Experience in cleanroom fabrication
Solid written and oral communication skills in English
