Description

Two 3-year post-doc positions are available within the research project PreMusic, funded by the French National Research Agency ANR. This project aims is to evaluate the impact of early musical interventions in the NICU on preterm infants’ development, starting from 28 weeks gestational age up until 18 months. In this longitudinal study, we will evaluate the development of auditory rhythm processing capacities with EEG and behavioral tasks and other aspects of cognitive development. The project consortium involves four academic partners with complementary expertise in early neurodevelopment, neural data processing (in particular EEG), cognitive neurosciences of music and music analysis.

The positions will be with Sahar Moghimi in Amiens (INSERM U1105) and with Barbara Tillmann in Dijon (LEAD-UMR5022), starting ideally around March 2023, but flexible, and both will be in collaboration with Laurel Trainor (McMaster University, Canada). The post-docs will work together and in collaboration with the other consortium members.

1) Amiens (https://gramfc.u-picardie.fr/)

The post-doc will be fully dedicated to extracting the EEG correlates of rhythm processing in the course of development, aiming to evaluate the impact of musical interventions on neurodevelopment.

Required: PhD in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, computer science, or related fields, strong background in neural signal processing, advanced skills with scripting languages, such as Matlab or Python, research experience in EEG signal processing/modeling

Preferable: knowledge in the field of neurosciences of music and/or auditory perception, French fluency

2) Dijon (http://leadserv.u-bourgogne.fr/en)

The post-doc will be mainly in charge of the longitudinal testing program aiming to evaluate the impact of the musical interventions on the rhythmic, cognitive and social development of the preterm infants.

Required: PhD in developmental psychology, cognitive neurosciences or neuropsychology; research experience in developmental science, strong motivation for team work; statistical and programming skills

Preferable: knowledge in the field of neurosciences of music and/or auditory perception, prior experience with EEG, French fluency.

All applications should include a CV, a cover letter specifying research interests and motivation, and contact details for two referees.

Post-doc applications should be sent to either sahar.moghimi@u-picardie.fr (position in Amiens) or barbara.tillmann@cnrs.fr (position in Dijon).

Applications will be evaluated as they come in, and the positions will be open until filled.
