Description

Post-doc candidate will join group of Soft and Complex Matter Lab (https://www.softcomlab.com/) at Norwegian University of science and technology, Trondheim, Norway.

We study and develop applications based on clay (both synthetic and natural layered silicates), targeting synthesis of 2D materials using clay; CO2 capture; manipulation of clay sheets by magnetic fields targeting microfluidic applications; basic condensed matter physics problems such as introduction of magnetic properties into the high band gap insulating and semiconducting clay nanosheets and heterostructures of MXenes and clays.

In research, we use large synchrotron facilities such as ESRF in France, MAX IV in Sweden, Bessy in Germany, Diamond in UK. Typically, we have up to 12 beamtimes per year.

We have many international collaborations, such as prof. Babak Anasori, Purdue University, USA; prof. Patric Tabeling, Institue Piere-Gilles de Gennes, France; prof. Maria Godinho,  Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, Portugal; prof. Caetano Miranda, University Sao Paulo, Brazil; prof. Josef Breu, University Bayreuth, Germany; prof. Heloisa Bordallo, University of Copenhagen, Denmark; prof. Arne T. Skjeltrop, University of Oslo/IFE, Norway; prof. Eric Clement, ESPCI, France and many others (see our website).
