DESCRIPTION OF THE RESEARCH GROUP:

"AGR 163 "Agricultural Entomology" Research team is an outstanding and worldwide recognized team on the use of entomathogenic fungi for pest control, with special attention given to natural presence and ecology, the mode of action, and the use of these fungi for the development of new strategies for crop production protection, with emphasis in their role as plant endophytes" POR "Agricultural Entomology" Research team is an outstanding and worldwide recognized team on the use of entomathogenic fungi for pest control, with special attention given to natural presence and ecology, as key components of the soil and plant microbiota, their mode of action, their associations with the plants and their use for the development of new strategies for crop protection and production.

REQUERIMENTS:

Postdoctoral researches with experience in Entomology, Microbiology and Molecular Biology of Fungi are welcome.

Expressions of interest must be forwarded before 30th April 2024 to equesada@uco.es or cr2qumoe@uco.es stating in the subject “EoI_MSCA-PF-2024”. The selected candidate will be invited to work in the application together with Prof. Quesada and the International Projects Office from UCO from the month of May’2024. Please, ensure your agenda allows for full dedication to the proposal preparation during the summer months, since the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship deadline is 11th September 2024.

For eligibility:

  • Have a Doctoral degree
  • Have a maximum of 8 years of full-time equivalent research experience(*)

For mobility:

  • The researcher has not resided or carried out his/her main activity (e.g., work, studies) in the country of the Host Institution for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the reference date (exceptions to this apply under the career restart and reintegration panels).

Three main offices related to international promotion, funding, transfer of knowledge and protection of results operate at UCO: the International Relations Office (ORI), the Results Transfer Office (OTRI) and the International Projects Office (OPI). Thanks to their support, UCO has a large experience in coordinating, managing and implementing international projects since 2nd Framework Programme (2FP_1987–1991). During the last Framework Programme (H2020_2014-2020), UCO obtained 45 projects funded, plus 51 projects funded by other European programmes, meaning almost 20 M€ in income. Currently, UCO has been granted with 15 projects funded through Horizon Europe and 34 projects funded by other European programs (since 2021).
