Description

Description: Dr. Clément CABANETOS from MOLTECH-Anjou, a laboratory hosted by the University of Angers is looking for postdoctoral candidates interested in applying for a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA-PF) in 2024. Note that applicants must comply with the Mobility Rule.

Project description: With a special focus on rationalizing the structure/properties of a new class of organic compound, their photoredox activity was recently demonstrated thus opening door to a wide range of potential scope and applications. The objective of this MSCA exploratory work will be to design, prepare and characterize new hybrids (organic/inorganics) “microbots” for photocatalysis, water treatments and antifouling. This project will be carried out in collaboration with the groups of Martin Pumera (micro structures) and Carlos Lodeiro (Nano structures).

MOLTECH-Anjou: MOLTECH-Anjou is a joined laboratory between CNRS and the University of Angers laboratory that gathers around 80 people including 50 permanent staff (CNRS researchers, teacher-researchers, engineers, technical and administrative staff) and ca 30 PhD / PDF. The scientific activity of MOLTECH-Anjou is mainly centered on the development of organic molecular materials or organic-inorganic hybrids, in support of highly visible areas such as organic electronics, stimuli responsive materials, nano-patterning or even materials for energy. Five research teams share their expertise in theoretical chemistry and modeling, organic and inorganic synthesis, coordination chemistry, supramolecular, physical and analytical chemistry, and materials development.

The University of Angers: The University of Angers gathers 23,000 students, 1,037 faculties, around 1,400 professionals and nearly 700 staff members, 400 different degrees, association with national public centers (CNRS, INRAE, INSERM), 450 institutions collaborated all over the world with the UA in the framework of research or education agreements. The University of Angers is committed to the HRS4R label since 2020 and is already involved in various European projects, notably MSCA actions.

Research area defining the project:

- Organic / Inorganic syntheses

- Micro robots and nanoparticles

- photochemistry

Keywords: organic synthesis, upcycling of a vat dye, hybride materials, micro robots, nanoparticles, photochemistry, photocatalysis, water treatments, antifouling
