Outline
The Hector Research Career Development Award (Hector RCD Award) was announced in 2020; with it the Hector Fellow Academy (HFA) pursuits the goal of promoting and supporting the scientific career of junior researchers in the area of natural and engineering sciences. The award aims to nurture and encourage young scientists at a critical point of their careers, but also to promote careers of young women in the STEM field.
What is funded
Single payment of 25.000€
Material equipment budget of 9.500€ per annum for three years
Funding of a doctorate position (DFG guidelines)
Membership in the Hector Fellow Academy and the benefits coming with it such as an interdisciplinary network of elite researchers and the opportunity for applying to other funding formats of the academy

W1 professors and junior research group leaders from the STEM field, medicine and psychology
