The Start Package Grants – For faculty recruitment Q2 2023 from Novo Nordisk Fonden supports Danish research capacity through a star-tup funding package for recruitment of international and/or industrial research talent to Denmark. Applications must be made by persons with appointment authority at the recruiting institution. Candidates must have research expertise in medical sciences, life sciences, or natural and technical sciences, including:
- Prevention of cardiometabolic disease
- Understanding and managing cardiometabolic disease
- Strengthening epidemic preparedness
- Sustainable and high yield agriculture
- Sustainable food and healthy diets
- High-impact climate change mitigation technologies
- Fundamental research in bioscience, data and computer science, materials science, metabolism, the microbiome, robotics, quantum technologies, mathematical modelling, and systems biology
- Interdisciplinary research with potential application within health or sustainability
- Technology development with potential application within health or sustainability
The packages provides the following over a 4 year period:
- Up to DKK 4 million for a tenure track position at the assistant professor level
- Up to DKK 6 million for a time-unlimited position at the associate professor level
- Up to DKK 8 million for a time-unlimited position at the full professor level
- Up to DKK 8 million for a clinical- or clinical chair professor position with mandatory research responsibilities for a minimum of five years
There are four assessment rounds per year. The next applications close on April 11, 2023.
What is funded
The packages provides the following over a 4 year period:
