Research Fellowship in Sensory Analysis and Consumer Perception

A call is open for one (1) research grant in the context of the Co-promoted Project 46080 "cLabel+: Innovative "clean label" natural, nutritious and consumer-oriented foods" to be carried out at Sense Test - Sociedade de Estudos de Análise Sensorial a Produtos Alimentares, Lda., associated to PPS4 - New methodologies for the integration and optimization of consumer response, financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Regional Operational Programme of the North (Norte2020), under the following conditions:

What is funded

Work plan:

1. Integrated sensory perception system with visual saliency measurement
2. Extension of the TDFE concept applied to different matrices
3. Designing an interface for digital projective mapping with ultra flash profile
4. Correlation of the use of projective mapping with the cognitive style of the participants

The activities to be performed by the Fellow consist in supporting the accomplishment of the scientific tasks foreseen in the project application, namely literature review, field work and data analysis, support to the elaboration of progress and final reports, submission of scientific articles and other tasks necessary to accomplish the project's objectives.

Working Place: The work will be carried out at Sense Test - Sociedade de Estudos de Análise Sensorial a Produtos Alimentares, Lda, under the supervision of the Technical Coordinator, Rui Jorge Moreira da Costa Lima and the scientific coordination of Prof. Luís Miguel Cunha, from FCUP, and the grant holder may carry out some of the activities at the installations of other project promoters or at a place of consumption/purchase.

Amount of the monthly allowance: The amount of the grant is 1,104.64 euros, according to the table of values of grants awarded directly by FCT, I.P. in Portugal (http://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores), plus the Voluntary Social Insurance, if the grant holder so wishes.

Duration

Scholarship duration: The fellowship will have a duration of 24 months, starting on 1 April 2022. The grant contract can be renewed until the end of the project.

Eligibility

Admissions Requirements:

Requirement 1:

Master's degree in Consumer Sciences, Food Engineering, Nutrition, Biochemistry or related areas.

Requirement 2:

To be a student enrolled on a PhD course in the area of Food Consumer Sciences, Agricultural Sciences or a related area, a requirement that must be proven upon hiring.

Or

To be enrolled in a non-awarding academic degree course integrated in the educational project of a higher education institution, developed in association or cooperation with one or several R&D units, a requirement to be duly proven at the time of hiring.

Note: In the case of masters who are enrolled in courses that do not confer academic degree, the scholarship may only be awarded to those who do not exceed, with the signing of the scholarship contract in question, including possible renewals, an accumulated period of two years in that type of scholarship, consecutive or interpolated.

Hiring requirements: If the qualification was conferred by a foreign higher education institution it must be recognized by a Portuguese higher education institution, under the terms of the provisions of article 25 of Decree-Law no. 66/2018, of 16 August, which approves the legal regime of recognition of academic degrees and diplomas of Higher Education, attributed by foreign higher education institutions, and of paragraph e) of no. 2 of article 4 of Decree-Law no. 60/2018, of 3 August, and any formalities established therein must be fulfilled by the date of the act of hiring.
