PhD Fellowship on “Graphene and related materials (GRM) enhanced fiber reinforced polymers”

The Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences, Foundation of Research and Technology - Hellas, (FORTH/ICE-HT) is seeking applicants for one PhD fellowship in the context of the research project “Graphene Flagship Core Project 3 – SGA 881603: Work Package 14 - Composites”, which is implemented under the Horizon 2020 Research Framework Program.

 

Job Description

The chosen applicant will be required to conduct novel research in the framework of the project “Graphene Flagship Core Project 3 – SGA 881603: Work Package 14 - Composites”. The aim of this research is the fabrication of GRMs and fibre reinforced composites and characterization by means of microscopy, spectroscopy and mechanical testing for aerospace and automotive applications.

 

Location: FORTH/ICE-HT, Patras, Greece

Duration: 12 months, with the potential of renewal

Fellowship: 840 Euros per month

Envisaged starting date: 01/01/2021

 

Requirements and Qualifications

The candidate is required to hold a M.Sc. in Aeronautical/Mechanical engineering with degree above 8. The applicant must also be familiar with stress analysis of composite structures, in particular with the finite element methodology, and composite materials. Lastly, the candidate must have a working knowledge of the English language and preferably another EU language.

Selection Procedure

Applications that are received on time will be evaluated by a scientific committee using the criteria mentioned above. If necessary, certain candidates will be invited to a personal interview with the committee.

The outcome of the selection will be announced on the website of FORTH/ICE-HT as well as on the website of “DIAVGEIA”.
