Outline
The Heinrich Böll Scholarships by the Heinrich Böll Stiftung (The Green Political Foundation) support doctoral students in all disciplines in Germany. Applicants need to be proficient in German (at least B2 Level or DSH2). Furthermore, applicants need proof of admission to doctoral studies. Applicants should have an active interest in the basic values of the foundation: ecology and sustainability, democracy and human rights, self determination and justice. PhD subjects that contribute to the focal points of the Foundation’s activities will be prioritized, including environmental science and ecology. The funding is up to 1,350 EUR/month for 2-3 years. Monthly study costs allowance up to 100 EUR/month and potential family allowances are also added. Applications close every year on March 1 and September 1, and the application portal opens about 6 weeks before the deadline.
