About
EPFLglobaLeadersis a new EPFL doctoral fellowship programme, which funds early stage researchers to become leaders in the transition towards sustainable societies. The programme is open to applicants to any of the 21 doctoral programmes available at EPFL. Forty-eight doctoral fellows in the fields of research of EPFL will benefit from a multifaceted training programme, including a secondment in the non-academic sector.

Eligibility criteria:
EPFLglobaLeaders is open to applicants of any nationality provided they fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
- Applicants must hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) before they sign their employment contract.
- Applicants must be Early Stage Researchers (ESR): by the time they sign their employment contract, they must not have completed more than 4 years of full-time research, and they must not have been awarded a doctoral degree.
- Applicants must fulfil the MSCA transnational mobility rules and must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Switzerland for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the call deadline.
Selection process:
The whole selection process, from the call deadline to the final selection of the EPFLglobaLeaders grantees, takes around 6 months. Applicants submit their application via a dedicated online application platform.
EPFLglobaLeaders has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement No 945363.
