Offer Description

Aims and tasks:

 

1) Inventorying, cataloging and research of components of the ANSA documentary archive, namely library and manuscripts;

2) Documentary and visual research with the aim of investigating the ANSA documentary archive;

3) Support in the organization of academic meetings, publications and exhibitions within the scope of the ANSA documentary archive;

4) Create scientific / academic outputs resulting from research work  in the ANSA documentary archive;

5) The scholarship holder must present the results of his research and work in regular meetings with the director of the Scientific Committee of CEDANSA and present a final report to the IHA Board.

 

Duration, scope and funding: This fellowship will have the length of 12 months, non-renewable, scheduled to start on June 1, 2023. Is associated with the R&D unit IHA - Instituto de História da Arte and CEDANSA – CENTRO DE ESTUDOS E DOCUMENTAÇÃO ALMADA NEGREIROS/SARAH AFFONSO, financed by national funds through FCT/MCTES (PIDDAC).

 

The scholarship amount is €1199,64 per month (according to the table of scholarship values directly attributed by FCT, I.P. in the country) (http://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores). To this value is added the voluntary social insurance corresponding to the first level, in case the candidate opts for its attribution, as well as the personal accident insurance.

 

Eligibility criteria:

 

1) BA degree in Art History or Literature, with a final grade of at least 17 points;

2) MA Degree in Art History or Literature, or postgraduate with a specialization in modernisms;

3) Frequency of a doctoral studies program with specialization in literary and artistic modernisms

 

Preferred requirements:

1) Documentary research experience and work experience as an archivist;

2) Knowledge about Almada Negreiros / Sarah Affonso (ANSA) documentary archive;

3) Experience in organizing scientific meetings and in promoting/disseminate academic events;

4) Good level of spoken and written English.

 

Candidates must meet the eligibility conditions provided in the Article 6º of the FCT I.P Regulation for Studentships and Fellowships (2019).

The candidate(s) cannot exceed, with the conclusion of the scholarship contract in question, including possible renewals, an accumulated period of one year in this type of scholarship, followed or interpolated.

 Important notice regarding the Application Admission Requirements mentioned above:

•In the case of academic degrees awarded by foreign higher education institutions, and in order to guarantee the application of the principle of equal treatment to candidates who hold foreign and national academic degrees, it is mandatory to recognize these degrees and convert the respective final classification to the Portuguese rating scale. The recognition of foreign academic degrees and diplomas as well as the conversion of the final classification to the Portuguese classification scale can be required in any public higher education institution, or in the Directorate-General for Higher Education (DGES). •The scholarship is always dependent on the presentation of proof of the required academic qualifications.

  1. Application letter;
  2. Curriculum Vitae;
  3. Qualification certificate;
  4. Motivation letter;
  5. Declaration on honor that, with the conclusion of the grant agreement in question, an accumulated period of one year in this type of grant, consecutive or interpolated, does not exceed, and that he/she has not already been a beneficiary of any other direct or indirect research grant financed by the FCT.

 

 

Selection Methods: The evaluation takes into account the candidate’s application and qualifications. Applications considered admissible will be scored on a scale of 1 to 20 in each of the following evaluation criteria:

-          Curriculum Vitae (25%);

-          Experience of documentary research and archival work (15%);

-          Knowledge about the ANSA documentary archive (10%)

-          Experience in organizing and disseminate scientific events (15%)

-          Level of spoken and written English (10%)

-          Letter of motivation to join the project (25%)

Form of advertising / notification of results: The final results of the evaluation will be publicized, through a list ordered by the final grade obtained by the candidates, posted on the IHA website, and the successful candidates will be notified through email.

Researcher Profiles: The scholarship is intended for a student enrolled in a doctoral studies program with specialization in literary and artistic modernisms, with a BA degree in Art History or Literature, with a final grade of at least 17 points, and a MA Degree in Art History or Literature, or postgraduate with a specialization in modernisms.
