Offer Description
The Environmental Hydraulics Institute of Cantabria Foundation and with the needs of the projects programmed in its Action Plan, it is necessary to fill a position for 1 TECHNOLOGIST.
IHCantabria, through its Offshore Engineering and Marine Energies group, has developed during the last 10 years an important scientific-technical activity in the field of marine renewable energies. In particular, it has developed disruptive methodologies for the implementation of wind technologies in the marine environment both from the numerical and experimental point of view, the design and optimization of floating platforms, the analysis of mooring systems, the design and optimization of the layout of offshore wind farms, the evaluation and design of O&M strategies, as well as the technical-economic analysis of new technologies for energy exploitation. The selected candidate will be integrated in a young, dynamic, competitive and international environment, under the framework of a reference research center, in constant growth, where he/she will develop a solid scientific-technical career linked to the marine environment. With us, you will be able to improve your scientific skills and progress in your technical competences in the field of marine renewable energies. The successful candidate will collaborate in leading projects in collaboration with leading national and international stakeholders, in the development of the following activities: – Design and optimization of floating structures, with special emphasis on structures for floating offshore wind. – Numerical and experimental modeling of floating wind platforms. – Analysis and development of innovative mooring systems. – Development of methodologies for the analysis of the offshore behavior of floating structures. – Analysis and design of innovative marine operations. Possession of a Master's degree specialized in marine renewable energies and/or offshore engineering, a PhD degree and/or experience in R+D+i will be especially valued.

Knowledge in Matlab or Python programming.
Knowledge in FAST, ANSYS AQWA and/or SESAM-DNV Orcaflex, Deeplines simulation environments or any kind of numerical suite
focused on floating structure dynamics.
Knowledge in other simulation models and/or numerical methods.
Experience in R+D+I projects related to the thematic of the offered position: floating offshore wind and/or floating solar.
Scientific publications related to the subject of the position offered: floating offshore wind and/or floating solar.
