Offer Description
The ‘Nanoarchitectonics at surfaces’ group directed by Prof. David Écija focuses on the design of nanomaterial on surfaces based on supramolecular or covalent interactions, and the inspection of their structural, electronic, magnetic, sensing and catalytic properties by state-of-the-art scanning probe microscopies and photoelectron spectroscopies.
- The researcher will take care of design of two dimensional materials featuring complex quantum phases of matter.
- Their duties include the maintenance and operation of an ultra-high vacuum system hosting a low-temperature STM/nc-AFM. In addition, the researcher will lead synchrotron campaigns for XPS, XAS, XLD and XMCD measurements.
Requirements
Skills/Qualifications
A PhD in physics is required, with a strong expertise in synchrotron techniques and familiarity with scanning probe microscopies.
