Offer Description

IMS Robotics at the University of Tartu is seeking a research fellow whose primary responsibilities include performing cutting-edge research in Human-Robot Interaction (HRI) in collaboration with students and faculty. The research will focus on varied aspects of applied HRI from high-autonomy to shared control and teleoperation.

Qualifications: PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, or related field

The IMS Lab is conducting world-class research with a strong emphasis on real-world robotics demonstrators. We are seeking a Postdoctoral researcher in the field of human-robot collaboration to conduct cutting edge research, supervise PhD students, and give lectures at a university level.

  • PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, or related field
  • Outstanding programming skills (C++ preferred)
  • International peer-reviewed publications in the field of robotics, control theory, and/or artificial intelligence

Specific Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent C++ skills. Experience in parallel programming with GPUs/CPUs would carry additional points.
  • Development experience with ROS2 and ROS.
  • Experience in applying machine learning and artificial intelligence in technological systems.
  • Experience in machine vision and its integration in applied robotics.
  • Experience in giving lectures at university.

 

Duties and responsibilities

To conduct research in the field of robotics and human-robot collaboration, to prepare and implement research projects under the supervision of senior staff; to supervise graduate and doctoral students; teaching up to one course per semester (2 hours per week) in the area of specialization. Participation in the work of decision-making bodies of the university is encouraged.
