Materials Physics Center (Donostia / San Sebastián)
The Spectroscopy at atomic scale Group at CFM is offering a postdoctoral position (1 year) starting
before February 2023 to work with Prof. Lucia Vitali.
The Spectroscopy at atomic scale Group at the Materials Physics Center offers a position in the area
of experimental surface science focusing on moiré patterns of two-dimensional materials beyond
graphene. Our aim is the local characterization of these materials correlating structural and electronic
properties. Interface induced properties as Moiré patterning and their implication in charge transport
will be specifically addressed by correlating crystal structure and electronic properties.

Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in Physics or Physical chemistry, preferably in the field of
Condensed Matter. Experties in Scanning tunneling microscopy/ scanning tunneling Spectroscopy,
cryogenic temperature and of experimental research methods in ultra-high vacuum environment will
be highly appreciated for this particular position, as well as background in Surface Science. The
selected candidate will be hired by the Research Association MPC - Materials Physics Center. The
salary will be of 35.650,44 euros a year before taxes.

This job position will be funded by a public competitive grant that the Research Association MPC -
