Offer Description

The Herfert Laboratory at the Werner Siemens Imaging Center at the University of Tuebingen offers a position for a highly motivated

Ph.D. student (f/m/d) interested in molecular and functional brain imaging (fMRI, PET) 65%

The contract is initially limited to one year, with the aim of further extension after a successful evaluation.

In our projects, we apply simultaneous PET and BOLD-fMRI to study molecular and functional changes at rest and after pharmacological or optogenetic stimulations in rodent models of neurodegenerative disorders.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated scientist, who is eager to work and evolve in a highly interdisciplinary environment with chemists, biologists, physicists, and physicians. The potential candidate is required to have a Master degree in Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, computer science, mathematics or related fields with Matlab programming skills and interest to perform in vivo experiments in the lab. Experience in image data analysis, in particular BOLD-fMRI and PET is preferable, but not a requirement.

For questions please contact:
Prof. Dr. Kristina Herfert, Tel. 07071 29-87680, E-Mail: Office.WSIC@med.uni-tuebingen.de.

We offer remuneration in accordance with TV-L (collective wage agreement for the Public Service of the German Federal States) in addition to all the customary benefits granted to employees working in Public Services. Severely handicapped persons with equal qualifications are given preferential consideration. The University of Tübingen is anxious to increase its quota of female scientific staff, and therefore emphatically requests women to apply for this position. Personnel appointments will be made pursuant to the fundamental stipulations of the legal statutes for universities in Germany. Please note the applicable vaccination regulations. Interview expenses are not covered.
