the Act of 20th of July 2020 – the Law on Higher Education and Science (Dz.U.2022 no. 574 with later amendments) may apply.
Other requirements:
PhD degree in the field of biological (or related) sciences obtained not earlier than 7 years prior to the employment in the project (note: this period does not include maternity or paternal leave or other circumstances described in the Polish National Science Centre Opus project regulations).
Scientific achievements in the field of molecular biology and/or cellular processes documented by publications in major international journals from the JCR list
scientific independence, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team as well as individually, enthusiasm for science and creativity as well as passion for experimental work,
expected research interests and experience related to the subject of the project are desirable. In particular, experience in: (a)
application of molecular biology methods to study chromatin modifications and splicing, protein-protein and protein-RNA interactions (b) knowledge of high-throughput sequencing techniques (c) conducting genomic and proteomic data analysis
Very good knowledge of English,

Salary: around 7500 PLN/month (gross)
Minimum period of employment: employment contract for the duration of the grant project NCN OPUS 18 “Chromatin mechanisms regulating gene expression - role of histone H3 posttranslational modifications in regulation of genes responsive to salinity stress in Arabidopsis thaliana”, duration 11 months,

Recruitment procedure
The applications will be proceeded by the Competition Committee of the Faculty of Biology following the aforementioned provisions of Ordinance No. 106 of the Rector of the University of Warsaw from 27 September 2019. The candidates will be informed about the date of the interview (on-line) and on the results of the competition by e-mail.
The Faculty of Biology reserves the right reply to selected applications only and to close the procedure without a ruling.
The competition is the first stage of the procedure for hiring an academic teacher as specified in the Statute of the University of Warsaw, and a positive decision is a basis for further proceedings.
Basic duties
1. Experimental work:
• using basic molecular biology techniques (e.g. RNA, DNA and protein isolation, cloning, RT-qPCR, western)
• cultivation of Arabidopsis thaliana plants and growing Arabidopsis T87 cells in suspension
• phenotypic analysis of Arabisopsis plants
• performing high-throughput experiments (e.g. RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, RIP-seq and proteomic )
• taking part in the analysis of the obtained high-throughput data results;
2. Analysis and publishing of the obtained results
3. Participation in seminars and scientific conferences
4. Supervision of PhD student and graduate students involved in research work in the project
