Open call for assistant professor position
in research and teaching
at the Institute of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology,
University of Warsaw.
one full time position starting from 20 February 2023
The call is open for all the applicants meeting requirements of the Law on
Higher Education of 20 July 2018 (Dz. U. z 2022.poz.574).
Requirements
Requirements:
- PhD degree.
- Achievements in culture and religion studies in the field of ethnology/cultural anthropology proved by publications in peer reviewed journals or scientific monograph.
- Significant experience in ethnographic fieldwork.
- Teaching experience in ethnology/cultural anthropology.
- Needs to have experience (as PI or participant) in research grants.
- Experience in scientific mobility and international cooperation.
- English fluent enough for academic teaching.
- The successful applicant will be required to:
- fulfil the obligatory teaching requirements, including running of ethnographic laboratory
- teach classes on: anthropological theory, ethnography of non-European countries.
- conduct his/her own ethnographic fieldwork and publish its results
- conduct academic research and publish in academic journals
- submission of a grant application within the course of temporary employment,
- fulfil other, including organizational obligations suggested by the director of the institute

Deadline for submitting documents: 20 November 2022
Method of submission: applications should be delivered to the office of the Institute of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology, University of Warsaw (room 100, 4 Żurawia St., 00-503 Warsaw); or sent by e-mail to: etnologia@uw.edu.pl.
After evaluation of the formal requirements in the submitted applications, the recruiting committee will prepare an initial short list of the candidates who afterword may be invited for an interview.
Candidates will be informed by the head of the recruiting commitee, about the results by phone or e-mail.
The competition is a first stage of the employment procedure for academic teachers under the Statute of the University of Warsaw. The positive results of the competition are the basis for further proceedings.
