Offer Description
The ALLPreT MSCA Doctoral training network aims to train the next generation of scientists who can tackle the challenges of the current food allergy assessment of novel food products, by unravelling the mechanisms behind food allergy and applying multivariate statistics to find patterns that are predictive for allergenic potency.
The ALLPreT project will link to local graduate schools providing training on core aspects of food allergy risk assessment, allergy, immunology, protein chemistry, bioinformatics, in vitro/in vivo/in silico models, and transferable skills.
Do you want to contribute to the development of new tools for the prediction of allergenicity of novel foods and food proteins and enable the production of new and safe food for the future?
If you have knowledge within the area of allergy, immunology, biostatistics, and/or protein-chemistry as well as have experience working with in silico in vitro or in vivo models and are looking for a PhD fellowship opportunity to put your skills into practice, you have it right here.

Additional Information
We offer
A Ph.D position part of an innovative and international EU funded Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral-Network (project ALLPreT - No 101072377)
The position is for a period of 3 years. The goal is to complete the project with a PhD degree
you will take part in all training, networking, and collaborative tasks offered by the ALLPreT project, which include developing technical and soft skills (organisation of meetings, grant writing, presentation for different audiences, etc
In ALLPreT, each recruited Ph.d candidate will have two mandatory exchanges (secondments) with partner organisations for a duration of several weeks to months to learn new techniques integral to their projects. During the secondments, the researchers will keep their contract with their host organisation, while the travel and subsistence expenses are paid for. During their secondment, researchers receive supervision and training at the premises of the receiving organisation. Secondments are differentiated from short visits, i.e. of a few days and are mandatory.
At the time of commencing their employment, researchers must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of their (recruiting) host organization for more than 12 months in the 3 years (36 months) before their recruitment date.
Applicants must be in the first four years (full-time equivalent research experience) of their research career and have not been awarded a doctoral degree on the first day of their employment contract. This research experience is measured from the date when they obtain the degree which formally entitles them to embark on a doctorate (either in the country in which the degree was obtained or in the country in which the researcher is recruited), even if a doctorate was never started or envisaged. Research experience is measured on the first day of the researcher's employment contract.
Applicants prove they are in possession of a Master’s degree, approved by the prospective hosting organisation (necessary checks should be done by candidate at time of contact with prospective host);
The MSCA DN eligibility criteria apply and will be verified during the application process. For more information on MSCA, please see: Home | Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (europa.eu)
