Offer Description
Are you looking to join an interdisciplinary team working on the cutting edge of science? Engineers and chemists working together to discover what they might not have apart.
If you are an outstanding candidate for PhD/postdoc with an interdisciplinary background in materials science, biophysics, biomedicine, or immunology, we want you!
You will explore the role of extracellular biophysical cues (spatial distribution of ligands, elasticity, nanotopography) on the signaling and immune response of T cells. Examples of our recent studies can be found here:
Toledo et al, Science Adv. 2021; 7 : eabc1640
Bhingardive et al, Nano Lett, 2021, 21, 10, 4241–4248
Le Saux et al, Adv. Matt 2019, 31,1805954
You will lead the design of nanostructured surfaces for addressing basic questions in the biophysics of T cells, and the relevant biological experiments, including ex-vivo T cell activation assays.
You will also lead the design of nanostructured surfaces for the activation and proliferation of T cells for adoptive immunotherapy against cancer.
If you have an interdisciplinary background that includes nanoengineering, microfabrication, biochemistry, bioengineering cell biology, and microscopy, we particularly encourage you to apply.
You must be able to work in an interdisciplinary research team that includes materials engineers, chemists, and cell biologists.
The applications can be sent directly to marksc@bgu.ac.il
