Offer Description
Both junior researchers will work in the project titled “New opportunities to enhance or extend (mobile) web survey data and get better insights
WEB DATA OPP” under the close supervision of Dr. Melanie Revilla, who is senior researcher at IBEI [https://scholar.google.es/citations?user=EyVpursAAAAJ&hl=fr&oi=ao].
The main goal of this project is to investigate how four new measurement opportunities that the growing presence of mobile devices made possible (namely voice input, visual data, metered data, and in-the-moment surveys) can help scientists and practitioners to get more accurate and/or more complete insights. More information about the project is available on its webpage: https://www.upf.edu/web/webdataopp
The research team has offices in the UPF Ciutadella Campus (building Mercè Rodoreda 24) but is mainly working remotely. Most of the supervision will thus be done through video-calls and emails.
Maintasks: The main tasks for the junior researchers will be:
1) To code the answers to open questions (usually in Spanish) according to predefined guidelines.
2) To classify images (i.e., extract the information of interest from images) according to predefined guidelines.
3) To support the team in administrative tasks (e.g., organization of a workshop, booking tickets for trips, etc.).
The junior researchers might also be asked to help on other tasks related with the project when needed, such as reviewing the literature on a specific topic or helping in designing, pretesting, or analyzing surveys and experiments.
All tasks will be supervised by Dr. Melanie Revilla and possibly other team members.
