Offer Description

The Department of Civil Engineering and Natural Hazards, Institute of Applied Geology and Institute of Structural Engineering is currently seeking a Postgraduate Research Associate (project employment).

Extent of employment:         30 hours per week
Duration of employment:      from 1st of April 2023, limited to 31st of March 2025

Workplace: 1190 Vienna

Gross monthly salary and pay grade in terms of collective agreement for university staff (payable 14 times per year): B1, € 2.458,00

Responsibilities:

  • Opportunity to work on innovative research projects in the field of construction material recycling and recyclable constructions of transport infrastructures
  • Cooperation with project partners from the public sector and industry in joint research projects
  • Writing a dissertation in the field of "technical geology" is explicitly desired
  • Independent work in research on your own responsibility
  • Participation in German-language courses in the field of building materials science and technical geology (extra remuneration in accordance with BOKU regulations)

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Diploma degree in Environmental Engineering Sciences, Geology, Civil Engineering or equivalent, thematically appropriate studies or other equivalent university degree
  • Language skills: very good German and good English

Desired skills and qualifications:

  • Knowledge in the field of material or rock processing an advantage
  • Practical and/or scientific experience in the field of construction recycling advantageous
  • Experimental experience in a laboratory advantageous
  • Craftspersonship skills or interest
