Offer Description

Call is open for the award of 2 BI-L/M scholarships in the Smart-Health-4-All project, (ref. ª POCI-01-0247-FEDER-046115), co-financed by Fundo Europeu de Desenvolvimento Regional (FEDER), through the Programa Operacional Competitividade e Internacionalização -COMPETE 2020, under the following conditions:

1.Scientific area

Computer engineering, Informatics, Bioinformatics, Bioengineering, or a similar scientific area.

2.ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Full applications will be accepted of graduates of bachelor or master programmes of the scientific area defined above. Preference will be given to candidates with a master's degree and candidates with a bachelor's degree will only be hired if they do not apply for a master's degree, or if they do apply, that the latter are not in the desired scientific area and/or do not have the relevant experience. above

3.Duration

The scholarship will have a duration of 4 months, starting in February 2023 and ending in 30th June 2023, and may eventually be renewed if there is a project extension.

4.Activity Object / Work Plan

The intern will participate in the following activities:

·         Development of mechanisms for the automatic transformation of data formats based on ontology, as well as mechanisms for searching information in heterogeneous information sources and aggregation of information sources.

·         Study ways to provide a flexible test data analysis service using the information generated on the platform, aggregating data from multiple sources and meeting the legal requirements for data protection.

·         Implementation of a data analytics service.

·         Evaluation of the pilot and smart health 4 ALL platform.

·         Dissemination of results.

5.Applicable legislation and regulations

The applicable laws are Research Fellowship Statute, approved by Law no. 40/2004, of 18 August; Regulation of Research Grants of the Foundation for Science and Technology, approved by Regulation no. 950/2019, published in the 2nd series - Part C, of ​​the Diário da República, of December 16, 2019, Regulation of ISEP Research Grants, Decree-Law No. 66/2018, published in Diário da República No. 157/2018, Series I of 16 August, which approves the legal regime for the recognition of academic degrees and higher education diplomas awarded by foreign higher education institutions and Decree-Law No. 60/2018, of 3 August, which simplified administrative procedures necessary for carrying out research and development activities, all in their current wording.

6.Sientific and workplace guidance

The work will be developed at ISEP, under the scientific supervision of Professor Ana Madureira.

7.Monthly maintenance allowance

Monthly scholarship amount of €1144.64 (master)/ €875.98 (bachelor), paid by bank transfer (according to the FCT table: (http://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores.phtml.pt), supported by PADs no. C58802 and C58801.

8.Methods of selection and composition of the jury

The evaluation of candidates will consider three equally weighted components: the classification obtained in the higher education degree; adequacy and relevance of its scientific curriculum for the project and the candidate's assessment considering an interview (all weighted on a scale from 0 to 20).

The selected fellow must have knowledge of software engineering and systems integration. Must also have software development experience. Experience in reading and writing scientific documents, as well as conducting and conducting scientific experiments.

In the interview, optional depending on the applications, in addition to the information to the candidates about the evaluation criteria and mode of selection of candidates, several points will be evaluated to verify the suitability of the candidate to the profile in question and the obligations as a scholarship. After the examination of the applications and the evaluation of the candidates according to the components concerned, the candidates will be serialised in descending order of scores. In case of equality the tiebreaker will be based on the highest value obtained in the interview. If the tie remains, the tiebreaker factor will be the ranking obtained in the higher course. If the tie still remains, the jury will carry out a vote where all the members of the jury vote, and the president of the jury is responsible for the quality vote in case of new equality.

The jury responsible for the selection process shall consist of:

Professor, Angelo Martins (responsible for the project at ISEP) (President);

Professor, Ana Madureira (Vogel);

Professor, Fátima Rodrigues (Vogel),

and as substitute member Professor Nuno Bettencourt (Substitute Member).

9.Form of SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS

Applications must be formalised by e-mail sent to amm@isep.ipp.pt including the following documents:

-         Curriculum Vitae;

-         Certificate of qualifications proving the title of the academic degree and diploma, of its recognition when it has been awarded by foreign higher education institutions or document proving the application for recognition;

-         Certificate of Qualifications/Document proving the ownership of the academic degree and diploma, of the respective recognition when it has been awarded by foreign higher education institutions or document proving the request for recognition;

-         Proof of enrolment in study cycles leading or not leading to an academic degree;

-         Other supporting documents considered relevant.

If the qualification has been granted by a foreign higher education institution, it must comply with the provisions of Decree-Law No. 66/2018, of August 16, and any formalities established therein must be fulfilled until the act of contracting.

10.Deadline for submitting applications

The applications may take place between 02nd to 15th February 2023

11.FORM OF PUBLICIZATION/NOTIFICATION OF RESULTS

The results of the evaluation will be published by email to the email address indicated in the application process.

12.Complaint and appeal procedures

If the result is unfavourable, the candidates have the possibility, during 10 working days, after the disclosure of the results of the evaluation of applications, to present their opinion, in the pre-hearing of interested parties, in accordance with the provisions of the Code of Administrative Procedure.

A hierarchical appeal may be filed against the final decision referred to in the previous numbers, to the President of ISEP, within 15 working days after the respective notification.

13.SELECTION RESERVATION

ISEP reserves the right to use unselected candidates, in order of serialization, for the hiring of scholarship members under the same project in case of the withdrawal of the candidate initially selected.
