Offer Description

Computational toxicologist:
The successful candidate will be in charge of developing novel methodologies for assessing the reliability of toxicological risk assessments. The methods will be applied in the context of the development of Integrated Approaches to Testing and Assessment (IATAs), including in-silico and in-vitro methods, for diverse toxicological endpoints.

Predictive modeling expert:
The successful candidate will be in charge of developing predictive models for toxicological endpoints. The job will involve the extraction of relevant data from public data sources and private data repositories, the curation of the data and the building of predictive models using Machine Learning algorithms (e.g., Random Forest, Support Vector Machines, Neural Networks). The candidate will have the responsibility to extend current state-of-the-art methodologies to meet the needs of the project.

Skills/Qualifications
  • Demonstrable experience in Computational Toxicology/predictive model development for biological endpoints (preferably in the field of Toxicology)
  • Good programming/scripting skills in at least one of the following programming languages/environments: Python, Java, KNIME
  • Experience in the use of SQL database queries (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
  • A Bachelor or Master's degree in a life science discipline like Toxicology, Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacy or Medicine
  • Fluent spoken and written English.

Previous experience in projects related with uncertainty assessment of predictive methods and Toxicology  will be a plus.

A Master’s degree in Mathematics, Data sciences or Statistics will be a plus
