Assistant Professor in Information Processing Systems (Rector’s decree no. 1184/2022)

The post is for a three-year period, renewable once for two further years. The annual gross salary is about 36.000 Euros. The area of research is Information Processing Systems.
Requested research duties: according to the “Open Science” initiative of the University of Trento, the Assistant Professor will provide a concrete and professional support to the national and European activities of definition of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC), to the aim of facilitating the transition to an open science approach. The research activity will be developed within the topics of the ING-INF/05 scientific sector and in particular to topics related to definition, support and implementation of parallel algorithms and High Performance Computing Techniques in the areas of Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and in their convergence. The activity will be related to the HPC cluster of the University of Trento (HPC2), which the Assistant Professor will refer to, and it will include the creation of guidelines and best practices to the usage of the HPC2 cluster for scientific research, and interfacing and consulting with the research groups of the University of Trento for parallelization of existing software and in general the deployment of HPC solutions. The activity will be supervised by the Rector’s Delegate for Information Technology and Services.
Requested teaching duties: according to the yearly didactical program, teaching duties will involve the participation to the didactical offer of the department of the scientific sector of this call within the B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees of the department, specifically focusing on the teaching activities included in the project.
