Postdoctoral researcher (male or female)

Postdoctoral researcher (male or female) to be employed for a fixed term until 30.09.2023., with a possibility of extension up to a maximum of 1 year since the day of employment in the case of approval form the Croatian Science Foundation (CSF), for work on tasks related to the implementation of the HrZZ project "Collective dynamics in magnetoelectrics" (IP-2018-01-2730). The work will take place in the field of experimental materials science at low temperatures, within the Group for experimental research of advanced electronic materials (GNM). Specifically, the postdoctoral researcher will be involved in the investigation of exotic magnetoelectrics and multiferroics in extreme conditions (low temperatures, high magnetic fields, high pressures).

The goal of the research is the characterization of the magnetic and electric order by measuring magnetization, static electric polarization, torque magnetometry and various types of transport measurements. The postdoc will have modern MPMS3 and PPMS devices and specialized experimental techniques available in the group's laboratories.

The candidate is expected to have a good understanding of condensed matter physics, a high motivation to work in the laboratory on the described topic, experience in working with cryogenic liquids and gases, and excellent knowledge of English. Priority will be given to candidates who have shown excellence in studying and research. Practical experience with the research topic, including experimental techniques, is an advantage.

Mandatory requirement: Completed PhD in the field of natural sciences, field of physics (with a focus on experimental research in solid state physics).
