Offer Description

BIPS is one of the leading research institutes in epidemiology and health prevention in Germany, with a staff of around 200 persons with highly interdisciplinary backgrounds. Candidates will work with a dynamic, friendly, and supportive team of interdisciplinary researchers. The candidate will also be involved in the Leibniz Science Campus Digital Public Health (www.digital-public-health.de/) and research related to the IDEFICS/ I.Family cohort (https://www.bips-institut.de/en/research/research-results/ifamily.html).

- Excellent track record in relation to the opportunity
- Completed Master's degree in public health, sport science, epidemiology or related fields
- Must not already hold a doctoral degree
- Must comply with the MSC Action mobility rule: not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Germany for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the recruitment date
- Your education must correspond to a four-year undergraduate degree program
- You must have a strong academic background from your previous studies and an average grade of a first- or second-class honours degree (or equivalent compared with the institutional grading scale). If you have a weaker grade background, you may be assessed if you can document that you are particularly suitable for a PhD education.
- You must meet the requirements for admission to the faculty 11 doctoral program of the University of Bremen (https://www.uni-bremen.de/en/byrd/doctoral-researchers/pursuing-a-doctorate-at-the-university-of-bremen/regulations-governing-doctoral-studies)
- Very good communication and collaboration skills and fluency in English
- Experience in the statistical analysis of large data sets
- Experience in working with SAS and/or R
- Experience in planning and/or conducting surveys, e.g. through final or qualification thesis
- Experience in time management and teamwork
- Very good knowledge of German (reading/writing/speaking) would be an advantage
- Above-average commitment, ability to work independently and integrate into an interdisciplinary team

Additional Information
All candidates will be employed by the host institution, and will be required to register on a PhD programme within this institution, according to the MSCA Doctoral Network rules, following the regulations of the hosting institution. A financial package will consist of a Living Allowance, Mobility Allowance (for moving to a new country) and a Family allowance (where applicable).
