Job title: Patrimonio cultural amenazado. Monitorización y evaluación del impacto de procesos erosivos sobre bienes histórico-arqueológicos del Parque Nacional de las Islas Atlánticas

Research line / Scientific-technical services:

The project "Cultural heritage under threat. Monitoring and evaluation of the impact of erosive processes on historical-archaeological assets in the Atlantic Islands National Park" project aims, among other objectives, to obtain a predictive model of the effects that climate change will have on the cultural heritage of the Atlantic Islands National Park, but also on its current coastline.

In order to achieve the objectives of the project, it is necessary to carry out field reconnaissance work and to take sediment and fossil samples, which will later be analysed in the laboratory. The analyses will be geochemical, sedimentological and dating, mainly by luminescence. For this reason, the project requires the hiring of a support technician (as stipulated in the report submitted to the competent body) for the tasks of sampling, mapping and sample analysis.

1)Tasks to be performed:

The successful candidate will carry out sampling tasks for luminescence dating and sedimentological analysis, sample preparation and luminescence dating in the Luminescence Laboratory of the UDC. He will also carry out GIS mapping tasks.

2) Justification of the duration of the contract:

The duration of the contract will be 5 months, which will be the time during which these tasks will be carried out.
